November Newsletter

Hi Everyone,

In this newsletter, we would like to share a recent email received by a Kiwi traveller – many people contact us about the cost to build in NZ versus the performance of traditional NZ building materials with their experience and knowledge of European building practice. We loved our latest one!

As NZ is becoming more diverse and aware of world trends – we are looking more closely at how we are building and what we should be expecting from our buildings. Should they really be lasting several lifetimes?

Permanence in architecture is still a long way off but we are coming up to speed with Europe and in true Kiwi style – some of the conversations we have are so exciting and encouraging that this is how we should be thinking…we are encouraged.

Brick, clay & lime are the oldest building materials synonymous with tradition and permanence – no need to change. In our fast moving world, there are some things we want to rely on and come home to that aren’t changing around us.

Building a POROTHERM home or using a beautiful brick is timeless permanent and true. In this newsletter, we would like to share with you some of the comments we receive and to let you know of new projects starting around NZ building with Porotherm – our love affair!

POROTHERM blocks have just been delivered to our new clients in Hawkes Bay and the new Mangawhai project is now well underway. The boat is soon to arrive with Porotherm blocks for our latest Hamilton project and also Karapiro…

The INTERNORM joinery has arrived for the Boatshed in perfect condition and looking amazing! We would like to thank all our valued clients for building with POROTHERM – as we say, it’s not cheap but it’s not expensive either. What is costly though, is building without permanence & performance in mind…

A GREAT READ…

‘”Just wanted to say ‘wow’ love your little website, product, passion and development examples

My jaw dropped when reading the first sentence in about us ‘The majority of houses and buildings in New Zealand are constructed using under-performing timbers and cladding systems not suitable for NZ’s climate and high humidity.’

Nailed it

I continually pull my hair out trying to understand why building a house in NZ cost minimum  $2200ms and way above to manufacture using way over complicated products”. From Shane Plummer – seasoned Kiwi traveller.

AMAZING Hawkes Bay setting overlooking the coast, John and Suellen Gifford have received their blocks and about to start building any day now!
