Hi Everyone,

As promised, we love to talk about how well Porotherm walls work for summer cooling and how the positive feedback just keeps on coming…

The NZ Porotherm ‘cool houses’ now dotted around the country are living up to the reputation of the accidental passive house as dubbed by architect Eberle designer of the 2226 building in Austria. No need for a mini power station here – the temperature just keeps an average 20-22 degrees without any air conditioning and regardless of the heat or cold outside.

This week, we are excited to let you know that the Queenstown Gatehouse has started. This is a gorgeous small house project using a combination of CLIMAmur and Porotherm blocks.

And… we have updated the Porotherm Product Guide on our website now. This is a bit more comprehensive on the construction system plus we have two international projects to draw inspiration from this week.

Finally, the real cool of clay block walls is not only the thermal performance of the building and its countless other benefits – but as NZ faces shortages and extended delays in building materials, the simplicity of this system as a real alternative has serious appeal. Wienerberger is the largest producer of clay construction materials worldwide and we are very proud to be partnered with them for NZ.

Thank you for receiving our newsletter. Please get in touch with us if you want to receive samples or any product information – we always love to hear from you!

This is one seriously cool little Gatehouse. Designed by MacPherson Architecture to be a manager’s house for the Stalker residence in Queenstown, this simple one-bedroom home will create a fantastic dynamic on the South Island landscape. We are very excited that this will also be used as a showhome in Queenstown – you can read more about this here and watch the virtual tour by CassandraSwan Interior Design.

Living in an apartment demands even more from performance and acoustics. With minimal energy requirement, all year round comfort – tranquility takes on a new meaning. Designed by German architects this international inspiration is indeed noteworthy. For more information, visit our website.

With an international focus this week – the Romania E4 Porotherm house was featured in Architectum Magazine Issue #33. It’s just the coolest thing when you get more than you expect.

It’s the most amazing feeling being on the inside of thick masonry walls. Everywhere you look, you are reminded of how safe, secure and permanent it is. The best part is how it makes you feel…the experience of living within Porotherm walls is very hard to describe. You just have to live it!

We are looking forward to our next delivery of beautiful trees to off-set the delivery of Porotherm blocks from Europe to NZ – perhaps these beautiful lime trees will be it!
